Do You Know Enough About Facebook Advertising?

One fine day an entrepreneur friend of mine said he has enough coming from Facebook page. While saying this, he referred to the engagement he drew with his business page and the branding his social media managers did. Branding of course is significant, but Facebook has evolved as a platform that promises business too. Business here purely means sales and new customers engaging with the brand for its products and services. His statement made me ask him whether or not he advertises his business on Facebook and his answer was no. And, the reason was he wasn't really sure of the outcome and didn't know whether he would be able to afford it and benefit with it.

This made me get into the insights of Facebook’s paid advertising feature and the facts I got to see were awe-inspiring. Every element I got to know about it turned out to be a reason for me to have faith in advertising with Facebook. Some of the key facts that I would be keen to share are:

Over 2 million small to medium businesses advertise on Facebook
  • Over 700 million users access Facebook on mobile every day
  • 66% of Facebook’s advertising revenue comes from mobile
  • Facebook earmarked purchase of virtual goods and gifts worth over a quarter in the year 2014.
  • 1.5 million Businesses are now engaged in advertising on this social channel.

While Facebook advertising has evolved as a major platform for small and medium businesses to advertise. This advertising model doesn't just allow businesses to advertise its target audience, but also to define the budget for a day. It doesn't require you to start with a big budget. A business can even be advertised with a small budget.

Target precisely

Facebook allows businesses to target the audiences precisely. It allows them to use their CRM data to similar audiences by using the Facebook data. This way, the advertisers are able to reach out to the consumers, who are actually interested in their products or services.

Test your ads to know what works best

Facebook empowers not just the consumers, but also the advertisers. One of the features made available to the businesses that choose to advertise on the social channel include testing the ads to ultimately know their potential to perform. For this, advertisers can create a duplicate ad with a different set of target audience and later see, which one performs better. However, it is to be noted that the duplicate ad is chargeable too.

Reach out to mobile audiences

I would consider quoting a fact here. As aforementioned, more than 700 million users access Facebook on mobile every day. This clearly defines how beneficial can reaching out to the mobile audiences be for businesses.

What Do Businesses Without Websites Are Missing Out On?

More than 3.17 billion internet users, over 500 million active websites and multiple retail brands operating online and still there exist companies that don’t have a website yet. This is the digital era, wherein individual of all ages and businesses of all sizes consider having an online presence. Not just to keep pace with the digital age, but to gain all that the digital space holds for them. Be it about buying an electronic gadget or finding the right wedding match, everything can be done online. Not just the businesses find it worth to move online, but also the users have developed the tendency to explore web for almost anything.

In such a scenario, the businesses that don’t have a website seem to be losing out on a lot. Numerous potential leads, customer relationships, new customers from distant cities, regions & countries and other innumerable factors that can be earned with online presence.

It has been discovered that numerous businesses just don’t feel the need to have a website. They feel the kind of businesses they are into do not demand online presence. But, this is nothing more than a misconception that many business owners develop. If we look at the trends, once a business goes online, it eventually creates the need for its services and if not, it at least serves the purpose of reaching out to those, who are in need of those services.

For the businesses that need more reasons to be influenced enough to have a website, here’s a list of some valid factors.

Goes beyond demographic limitations

Offline businesses have few limitations with respect to demographics. Generally a business with its direct marketing efforts can reach out to the clients based within a city or a region. A website takes that obstruction off and reaches out to the audiences available online in any city, region, state or country. With a website, no client finds it difficult to reach out to your business.

Cost-effective medium to reach online audiences

Having a website saves a great deal of your marketing costs. Gone are the days when creating a website took significant amount of money. At present, building a website has become a simpler task. One can even opt for the free versions available online or can spend a little to get it aligned with the specific requirements.

Helps creating demand

By not having a website, you might be missing out on a lot of potential leads. First move online and let the audiences know about your business and within a while, you will start feeling that they need you and your products.

A website serves a great point of contact for the potential customers to reach out to a business. The online presence helps letting the world know about the brand’s existence.

Brings new customers

It’s great if you already are able to draw a great amount of leads even without a website. But, just imagine, having a website could be an added advantage. It would simply multiply the number of customers you are reaching out to.

Will Google’s Buy Button Be a Threat for Retailers?

The news of the buy button being launched by Google is taking rounds on the web. This update was first released by Wall Street Journal quoting anonymous sources and now can be seen flashing on numerous news websites. According to this update, the search engine is soon coming up with buy buttons for the pages containing products available for online purchase. By clicking on these buttons, the buyers will be taken to the Google product page, where the purchase could be performed.

However, the news hasn't yet been confirmed by the search engine. But, it is being presumed that the shift that users are making to the mobile devices is a major reason for Google’s buy button initiative. For the online shoppers using mobile devices for search and purchases, the quick buy button would be an easier way to make a purchase. The products here will be sold by the retailers and not directly by Google. Now, this move could be seen as a threat for the other online retailers.

These buttons are said to be available only for the sponsored search results and not the other search results processed for a query by search engine. This update, if proves to be factual would be a great step by the search engine to expand its services beyond the information it delivers to the users.
However, such call to action buttons are also being used by Facebook and Amazon. Amazon Dash and Facebook’s Shop Now serves the users with an opportunity to make a direct purchase.

Reportedly Google aims to seeking to brand the pages, where the users will make the purchase. The search engine will then get you recommendations from the same retailer.

Now, this move doesn't seem to be a threat for the retailers, who are already advertising with Google. However, this may affect the number of purchases that are being processed through their mobile apps as the Google buy button may come up as an alternative to these apps.

SEO in the last few years has turned out to be a necessity for businesses. Benefits of Choosing a Web Development Company in Bangalore

When it's time to take your business online, you can either choose a Bangalore web development company or go for any other companies outside Bangalore. While offshore web development companies may design and develop professional websites. But many business owners are choosing local developers over them. There are a number of reasons why they are opting for web development companies in Bangalore:

Why Choose a Bangalore Based Web Development Company

When you work with a local web development company, the first thing you will gain is trust. It is easier to trust someone that you have sat in the same room together than one whom you've met on the Internet. With many cowboys on the Internet today, you want to be sure you are dealing with a legitimate company that you can reach any time by email, phone or driving straight to their premises.

Another benefit of working with a local web developer is that you are in the same time zone. Therefore, any of your concerns can be addressed in real time. Emails will be answered quickly and you can phone the company during their business hours. Many offshore web development companies are in a different time zone and getting their design team by phone may be impossible.

If you are targeting local and regional customers, your best bet would be to work with a company that understands the local trends and web experiences of your target market. The company will tailor your website and localize it so that your customers feel they are engaging in a local website. The web developers can do this by posting local down street photos, use of your town's colours, using local expressions in your web copy among others. Offshore web developing companies rarely deliver such customized solutions.

Your website should get traffic for it to be effective. Bangalorean uses different expressions when searching for things on the Internet and a local company understands this. The development team will optimize your site to rank high for particular local key phrases that offshore companies may not know.

Have you ever outsourced a project only to have the final delivery fall short of what you expected? This is what is likely to happen when you outsource to offshore companies. One of the benefits of using a Web Development Company in Bangalore is that the designers will be able to understand and bring your concept to reality. The team will most likely be speaking your local language and you can articulate your requirements easily. It can be a nasty experience working with some offshore companies especially if English is not their first language.

To have a successful business, you will have to develop a good relationship with your team. Choosing to work with a local web company is advantageous because you can develop a business relationship and trust that will be beneficial to the two of you in future. Online businesses require constant tweaking and regular updates and thus you may constantly require web development services from the company.

Another importance of working with a local web development company is that you can get affordable subsequent services for your online business. For instance, you can get discounts on search engine marketing and development of your online brand from the company. You can sit with the web and design teams and chart the way forward for your business. A local web team will have your best interest at heart since your success is their success too! You may not enjoy this from an offshore company.

The above are some of the reasons why many people choose to work with Bangalore based web services companies as opposed to offshore companies. The long term benefits far outweigh the short term ones of working with an offshore company.

Website Design that will damage your Brand Image

These days, everyone you want to do business with will check out your website.

Your website is the foundation of all your outbound marketing and your brand building efforts. Your great website design enables potential customers to find, understand and remember your business.

However, this will happen only if your website is professionally designed from the ground up or it will just another bad site that, (if you are lucky no one will find, or take notice of even when they do get there!) will put off more of those hard-earned prospects than it converts.

It’s tempting when money is tight, such in as the current environment, to be tempted by the idea of saving money by opting for a one of those cheap offers; you know; "get your own website for just INR 4,999 a month - 100s of superb templates that work".

So, what are the key attributes that will make your website stand-out and grab the attention of valuable potential clients? It's vital that your website design is attractive, impactful, interesting and professional. If your website doesn't look good and hold attention, no one will bother to want to know more about your business
And to be really effective and hold people’s attention, your website must be designed to must convey the essentials of your business proposition clearly - and in your customers' terms - not yours (more on this later!). And quickly - you have 10 seconds to make an impact.

Now, what if your website design fails to achieve all this?

FACT 1 - A badly designed Website will distort your Brand Image

It’s crucial to your business growth that the way that visitors to your site perceive you the way you want them to perceive you. A badly designed website will misrepresent your business and will destroy your brand image. If visitors are unable to find out what your business represents through your website, then they will make all sorts of assumptions. You want them to be absolutely clear about what you do and why they should pick you.

Example: Bad Website Design

FACT 2 - Bad Website Design Will Have a Negative Impact on Your Business

No one wants to convey the wrong message through their website deliberately. But, if your website accidentally conveys a wrong or negative message then it may actually make people dislike you and your brand and you may never be able to recover from this. It’s hard to change perceptions and one of the great things about the web and social media is that word spreads fast - remember that this can work against you as well!

FACT 3 - A Bad Website will slowly and silently Damage your Business

If sales are not meeting target, often businesses will spend time and resource trying to treat the symptoms, but actually fail to realize that it's their brand image which is fundamentally causing them trouble. These days your brand image is mostly recognized through your website and these businesses continue to use a poorly designed website and continue to scratch their head as to why all their efforts seem to be ineffectual. This will cause significant damage to your business, but is fact that a lot of businesses still soldier on with a badly designed site and talk themselves into believing that its good enough and anyway a top website will cost a lot of money.

FACT 4 - Cheap Website Design will actually Cost you more

Small and Medium sized business, especially startups, tend to try and save money by investing the minimum they can get away with on marketing. There is then a great temptation to either do it themselves (it’s pretty easy if you have basic IT skills) get a friend to do it, or they hire a cheap designer.

If they are smart they will eventually realize that their website is not helping move the business forwards, because it doesn't look professional. So, they again search for another designer. However, this time they hire an expensive designer, believing that the more you pay the better result you will get. This is no guarantee for success; there are some great graphic designers out who do not understand website design is not the same as good graphic design.

If they are smart and lucky they will then find a marketing and design company who can advise about how to create a website that both looks good and works hard to create a stream of great pre-qualified prospects to fill the sales funnel.

Doing it themselves or getting their sister's boyfriend, cat whose previous owner worked in IT to do it or hiring a cheap website designer in the beginning will actually cost more in the future.

FACT 5 - A Bad Website will ensure your Marketing Efforts Will Fail

Commonly, after designing a website, businesses use it as a destination to promote their business via different means such as literature, direct mail, e-marketing, radio advertising etc. You will spend a ton of hard earned cash sending all those great prospects to your site - they will expect to see something professional and will be disappointed. You will end up wasting hundreds if not thousands of pounds AND those marketing campaigns targeted to drive traffic to your bad website will totally backfire and you will continue to ruin your business image.

So Avoid All The Hassle!

As a small or medium sized business - indeed any sized business; you cannot afford to go through all this. It can all be very simply avoided by making a your first smart decision i.e. hire an experienced designer who is a proven website designer who understands the power of great graphic design, the various technology options for website development AND who really understands the fundamentals of SEO (search engine optimization) and SEM (Search Engine Marketing. Be a successful business owner by doing what you do best and to get genuine specialists to support your activity. Promote your business effectively if you have website designed from professional website design company and position your business properly in the market.
